Freeplay Friday: TrackMania Nations Forever
Yes, it's something I'm going to attempt to update every week. I can't guarantee I'll keep a steady schedule, but now that I'm much more interested in updating the site, I might as well see how long it'll last. What better to kick it off than with one something one of my projects is based on, TrackMania Nations Forever?
As you can probably figure, TrackMania is a racing game. But it's not your average racing game. This is full-on arcade racing at its finest. TrackMania Nations Forever is essentially one seventh of the $40 TrackMania United Forever. By that I mean of all seven scenarios (Bay, Snow, Desert, etc.) available in United, Forever has only the Stadium scenario.
What do you do in TrackMania? Well, that's up to you! The track editor is the crux of the game, and it's very easy to use. Whether you want short tracks, long tracks, easy tracks, hard tracks, a circuit or a singular path, the sky's the limit. The single player mode has a bunch of predesigned tracks for you to practice on, gain inspiration from, or even top the leaderboards. Multiplayer is also a blast. Either play against your friends on each others' tracks or going online to teach the Internets a lesson.
